The single brake and double brake of the overhead bridge cranes refer to the brake of the hoisting mechanism, the brake effect of single brake is not as good as the double brakes, but the its price will be cheaper.
The function of the overhead bridge crane brake:
1. Support function
Can keep the object stationary, such as enabling the hoisting mechanism to hang the object in the air. In the open-air overhead bridge cranes, it also has the function of proof-wind and anti-sliding.
2. Landing heavy objects
During the process of lowering the weight, the braking force and the lifting load are balanced to control the smooth fall of the weight.

Through the friction of the brake, the running mechanism in motion can be stopped within a certain distance to prevent accidents.
