Workshop lifting crane wire rope damage reason

The safety of the workshop lifting crane wire rope is a concern for users, in order to ensure the safe operation of the wire rope, it is necessary to understand the damage cycle and maintenance methods of the workshop lifting crane wire rope.
The main reason of wire rope damage are the following six types: wear, fatigue, corrosion, deformation, bite the rope, overload.
1. Wear
During operation, wire ropes rub with other objects to generate friction. Under the effects of mechanical, physical and chemical, the wire rope is constantly worn.
2. Fatigue
Fatigue damage is that under the action of variable stress, the surface of steel wire begin to forms initial cracks due to various slips, then the crack tip repeatedly plastically deforms because of shear stress, until it breaks.
3. Corrosion
Wire ropes are generally used in the open air, the sun and rain will cause the steel wire ropes to corrode. In particular, the wire ropes may be used in harmful gases and harsh environments, that will cause more seriously damage.
4. Deformation
Many accidents were caused because the wire rope was previously damaged by deformation without causing enough reappearance.
5. Bite the rope
The rope bite damage generally occurs on a multi-layered winding crane drum.
6. Overload
The wire rope will have a slight elongation as the load increases. When the load exceeds the elastic limit, the wire rope may break.
